My Fitbit Sense does not connect to Hyperate. I have to use Chrome for the pairing request of Hyperate.io to show up but it just cannot find it. I tried disconnecting the Sense from my phone, tried to connect it to the computer via bluetooth and then checking if it would show up, it did not.

Hi there, normally the FitBit App is standalone, you do not have to pair it with any other device - just start HypeRate on your Watch and use the give Link with your ID in a Browser Source (OBS) or in a Webbrowser

On the HypeRate app for my Sense it just gives me: https://www.hyprate.io/12345678 which is probably just a placeholder I cannot generate a new Build ID either. That button just does nothing. I obviously tried reinstalling multiple times and even did a factory reset on my Fitbit.

It seems like your watch has no internet connection?

It does I set it up on my ASUS router on the 2.5Ghz band.

Hmmkay, during installation are there any access settings you have to grant? Even after reinstallation you got the ID 12345678?

All the permissions are checked. After reinstalling it still says 12345678.

Can you access the web from any other application which is installed on your fitbit? Could you test that please?

How do I access the web on my Sense?
Community Member6/28/2023, 7:08:56 PM
Try to use any other application that sends requests to the web Since I dont own a fitbit I cant tell you which app you could test that with

I tried using the Google Maps application and it loaded everything fine. The weather app also worked. Oh wtf I just check now I magically got a code instead of the 12345678! I have no idea what I did but I love it. Thanks anyways.

Let me see if I can put that into OBS now!

Strange! But im glad it's working now :)

But what makes me questioning is, that regardless if you got Internet or not on the watch - the ID should have been generated... So it seemed more like an issue that the application didnt loaded correctly 🤔

Yeah, maybe the internet call for the Google Maps and weather applications somehow woke the app up. I was scarred when I woke up earlier because it only showed "-- BPM" but that solved itself after like 30 seconds of having the watch on. I am unsure, maybe the network protocol on the Sense is slow as Google Maps did not seem to load all that fast. Not that a heartrate feed should take up a lot of bandwidth and I also have a decent Wi-Fi connection so that should not be the issue. All in all, I am so glad that it works now, even if it remains a mystery to me. <:steamhappy:1101218794380214373> Last but not least, I was wondering: "How do you add a custom design to my heartrate with the Sense? Do I just add the 8 symbol ID at the end of the /animation/<animation code>/?" Also, how do I get the design for which you have to join the Discord? I clicked on it, it let me to this Discord but I am unsure where I can copy that animation to clipboard. I also have a suggestion! Maybe make it so you can change the color scheme of some of the designs. The blue on that one is so nice. It probably might just not fit with my stream because of said color though.

The "-- BPM" are coming from the SDK, since Fitbit doesnt allows Apps to read the heartrate when the watch is in Standby mode - maybe they fix this in a Future Release of their OS but for now every Developer has to struggle with that :| You dont do any of the Design stuff on the watch itself - since hyperate was primarily made for Streamers they often embed the URL in their streaming Software (Like OBS Studio). This is the place where you would adjust the URL - in case you dont use OBS / etc just adjust the URL in your Browser and you are good to go :)

You can find the corresponding Channels in the "Design Hub" category here in Discord. You just need to scrollt to the top for seeing how to implement + customize it

And if you click on an animation in the widget gallery it will copy the corresponding URL to your clipboard and you only need to Insert your ID (that one where you saw the placeholder before)
