The search window itself seems to be buggy. I also tried on another iPhone (14 pro max) and the problem seems identical

First at all you can not pair the Apple Watch with the iphone App - these are 2 seperate Apps.
2nd. you can "fetch" the BT Signal from a MiBand as long as it is a MiBand 2,3,4,5,6 and depending the OS Version of your Band 7.
For "fetching" the MiBand BT Signal you have to so this;

You also can simply use your Apple Watch to broadcast your heart Rate by installing this:
