You haVe to insert the link as a browser source like:
https://app.hyperate.io/YOUR-ID
That’s it.
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:22:01 PM
"...despite copying the browser address exactly." I did that
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:22:36 PM
So when you use this link in chrome eg do you see your heart rate?
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:27:17 PM
It says I'm dead lol
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:27:44 PM
works on my watch though
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:28:15 PM
Can you send me the link you are using pls
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:28:49 PM
https://app.hyperate.io/72793
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:31:11 PM
It seems like you are not connected to our backend 😦
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:32:59 PM
So the watch has proper wlan connection?
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:38:06 PM
it's a Fenix 5, alll I know is your app says it's compatible
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:38:43 PM
Not sure what you mean by that? What app?
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:41:04 PM
The Garmin Connect IQ app you told me to use
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:41:20 PM
As long as you can install HypeRate on this watch it’s compatible
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:41:54 PM
It's defintely on the watch. Also doesn't work unless the app is open btw
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:43:16 PM
App closed vs App open
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:44:12 PM
Ok but even we you have it on screen (foreground) it’s not transmitting to a browser or OBS?
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:44:40 PM
That is correct. So even though the watch says my HR, the browser/OBS does not
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:45:45 PM
Ok how can you read the ID correctly it’s only half way there?
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:46:15 PM
hit the button on the upper right and it shows the ID
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:46:43 PM
Ah yeah you are right this was one of our last updates. 🙂
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:47:19 PM
Can you perform a restart of the watch?
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:48:46 PM
ok
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:51:29 PM
restarted...I'm still dead
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:52:03 PM
<@174193097285173250> just for my information, did we ever have any troubles with the Fenix 5 before?
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:55:46 PM
not that i remember.
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:56:38 PM
<@710526275147661393> just a question do you use a streamdeck?
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:56:56 PM
yes
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:57:19 PM
The app definetly needs to be in the foreground when using it. it will not work when running in the background, because the garmin API only supports a minimum of 1 update per minute, if an app is in the background. useless for a heartrate monitor
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:58:46 PM
Maybe your IP got blocked by our firewall - cause we had some issues with the streamdeck plugin.. Maybe you can pm <@120250275477979136> your IP address - that we can check this also.
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:59:14 PM
I'm not sure what my streamdeck has to do with this?
Community Member•11/7/2024, 6:59:56 PM
It’s about your IP, when the streamdeck is requesting every second to our backend you get blocked
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:00:27 PM
I didn't know you have a plugin for the streamdeck. I don't use it. You asked if I had one and that confused me
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:00:40 PM
Ah okay
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:00:46 PM
I only use the Garmin app
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:01:02 PM
Ok then nvm the IP topic .
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:06:09 PM
i dont know how far this discussion did go so far but, as long os the red "No Internet Connection!" warning on the garmin app is not visible, a connection to the internet exists on the Garmin watch. if that is the case, we try to send the heartrate data to our servers. Therefore, if the data on the website doesnt update, it maybe got lost on the way from the watch to the server. Yannick can look up failed requests, when you give him the Hyperate ID of your app.
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:08:12 PM
i also just checked with my Garmin watch (Venu 2 Plus), and it works
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:10:32 PM
alternatively, open the options of the garmin app, generate a new hyperate ID and see if the new id recieves any data
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:11:46 PM
This means I’m connected to the internet yes? No red “No Internet Connection” label
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:12:05 PM
yes
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:12:12 PM
I’ll try this
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:14:41 PM
Can you direct me to where the options tab is please?
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:20:07 PM
hold this button down until this menu pops up:
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:21:34 PM
https://app.hyperate.io/71695 unfortunately still no change
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:21:59 PM
then, sadly, yannick needs to see what is going wrong
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:22:38 PM
Is Yannick going to see this thread or is there something I need to do additonally?
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:23:38 PM
he was pinged by Woodryda a few messages before, so hopefully, he sees it?
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:42:30 PM
Can you send me your IP nevertheless so I can check if its an IP ban?
Community Member•11/7/2024, 7:43:34 PM
FYI its not ONLY the StreamDeck plugin which can cause the issue - it could be in theory any application which doesnt implement the correct reconnect logic
Community Member•11/7/2024, 8:14:41 PM
<@710526275147661393> Ive also send you a pm :)
Community Member•11/7/2024, 8:28:05 PM
<@174193097285173250>
They are neither banned by the Firewall nor the webserver is getting any requests from their IP
So must be an issue between device + Garmin app OR Garmin app + HypeRate servers.
We also checked IPv6 connection issues but they didnt led to any other result :(
Community Member•11/7/2024, 8:33:55 PM
<@174193097285173250>
Do you have the possibility to generate a debug build w/ proper file logging or does Garmin not allow that kind of stuff?
Community Member•11/7/2024, 8:35:01 PM
thats possible
Community Member•11/7/2024, 9:00:25 PM
<@710526275147661393> Ive made a build of the app now, that displays the HTTP response code we get from the server every time we send data. if the number is any number other than 200 or 204, something went wrong.
Here is the build file.
To install it on your watch, simply connect your watch via USB with your PC and copy the PRG files to your device’s GARMIN/APPS directory. then disconnect your watch from the pc, and open the app on the watch
Community Member•11/7/2024, 9:09:14 PM
-101 null
Community Member•11/7/2024, 9:09:37 PM
also -2 null
Community Member•11/7/2024, 9:18:22 PM
both errors are a BLE (Bluetooth-Low-Energy) error. This is the method you are using to connect your watch with the internet. Are you perhaps connected by using a phone as the intermediate between your wifi network and the watch?
In the forums, it looks like this issue happens with fenix 5 watches connected to iPhones?
One user wrote:
> On your iPhone, go into the mobile settings and reset the all network settings. That seems to resolve the issue with Garmin connect mobile.
Community Member•11/7/2024, 9:19:31 PM
i will add some more save-guards into the app, to at least make -101 errors (to many requests at a time) no longer happen. and while im at it, i will fix the layout of the text on fenix5, so that the url is no longer cut off at the bottom of the screen
Community Member•11/7/2024, 9:24:15 PM
I am using my phone. Is there something else I should use?
Community Member•11/7/2024, 9:26:09 PM
I'm looking up how to reset network settings without resetting my whole phone
Community Member•11/7/2024, 9:27:12 PM
the Fenix 5 doesnt support wifi directly, so you must use a phone as an intermediate. Make sure the phone is in range of the watch
Community Member•11/7/2024, 9:33:01 PM
Unfortunately a network reset did not work. the -101 null persists. the iphone is 8" from the watch as well
Community Member•11/7/2024, 9:49:18 PM
here is a new build which should at least fix the -101 errors and the UI. Can you try if you are getting a new error with it?
Community Member•11/7/2024, 10:40:50 PM
No errors at all currently. Also still not transmitting to the browser. Also noticed this when I opened the app.
Community Member•11/7/2024, 10:42:43 PM
the installed hyperate version is the "siteloaded" one you installed via USB. you can remove it by using Garmin Express:
https://www.garmin.com/de-DE/software/express/windows/
Community Member•11/7/2024, 10:43:53 PM
if no errors are displayed, that should be good? that means at least that the data should be send to the server, and you received a response back... so it should work theoretically
Community Member•11/7/2024, 10:52:47 PM
unfortunately it does not. I even reset network settings again and obtained a new ID

Community Member•11/7/2024, 10:55:35 PM
then, im out of ideas sadly 😦 im very sorry
